From milling cutters in 1990 to deep hole drilling.
ILJIN TOOL TECH began making milling cutters in 1990. Today we make a wide range of milling cutters and special cutters, as well as BTA heads and inserts, gundrills and indexable drills for deep hole drilling. We continually listen to our customers’ feedback and never stop developing our products.

BTA DRILLING
BTA drillingØ12 to Ø500, deep and straight.
GHD (700), DHD (800), LHD (801) and THD (T-MAX 424.10) heads have a 4-start thread and suit both single-tube (STS) and ejector systems. The 500 series heads are set to diameter with cartridges and pads.
COUNTER BORING
Counter boringOpen up and finish existing holes.
818 series TBH (push) and BBH (pull) heads enlarge pre-drilled holes with precision. Ø38.10–165.60 mm from stock; larger diameters made to order — please ask.
GUNDRILL
GundrillsSmall diameters, long holes.
Indexable 600.20, 600.40 (2-row pads) and 600.50 series. Up to L2000 — ask us for longer.
INDEXABLE DRILL
Indexable drillsChange the insert, keep drilling.

HOW IT WORKS
01 BTA DRILLING · STS / EJECTOR
BTA drilling · STS
Single tube system
Coolant is pushed in around the tube and carries the chips back out through it. Because the chips stay off the finished wall, the hole keeps its straightness and finish, even deep down.
BTA drilling · EJECTOR
Double tube system
Part of the coolant fed between the two tubes is jetted backwards, creating suction that draws the chips out. No sealed pressure head is needed, so deep holes can be drilled on conventional lathes and machining centres.
02 GUNDRILLING · INDEXABLE / RECONDITIONING

Small diameter · long holes
An indexable gundrill: the insert and guide pads are screwed on and simply replaced when worn. Coolant runs through the tool to the tip and flushes the chips back along the V-flute. It is the classic way to drill long, small-diameter holes straight in a single pass.
Gundrill head reconditioning
Keep the body, renew the head
Don’t scrap a worn gundrill. We remove the old head and braze on an ILJIN indexable head chosen for your job, so the body goes back to work. Other brands’ indexable and brazed gundrills can be converted to ILJIN inserts and pads as well.
We check the body’s straightness and condition first; some special designs cannot be reconditioned.
